Who We Are

Susan Beckingham and Richard Russell

Susan Beckingham and Richard Russell of Solid Web Strategies

Richard Russell has had a long, diverse career in the IT industry.

He has held senior positions at high profile organisations such as Telewest Broadband and Tiny Computers where he specialised in IT support, including manual and tutorial writing.

Richard has over 16 years’ experience within the ever changing world of the internet.

He’s designed and built websites to exacting standards for a wide variety of industry sectors and what he doesn’t know about the web really isn’t worth knowing.  He’s a great analytical problem solver – just the sort of person you need when it comes to websites.

The so-called Dark Art of SEO is his speciality and he really knows how they work.  His jargon free approach and attention to detail will deliver a great website for you.

And another thing…

Richard was responsible for the colour coded sockets on the back of PCs in the 1990’s. It was the system that was adopted by Microsoft and IBM and then made into the PC97 standard

And…(we love this bit), Homer Simpson, on an episode of “The Simpsons” once asked, “Colour coded sockets!  What idiot thought of that?”.  Well, Homer – it was Richard!

Susan Beckingham has had a long and successful career in corporate business development and client management.

She’s persuaded all sorts of companies to part with large amounts of money for marketing services they didn’t know they needed.

She has written literally hundreds of business proposals, tender documents and press releases as well as content for many diverse websites.

Susan’s, strategic focused background puts her in a unique position in the world of copy and web content writing: she really gets the bigger picture – who you’re selling to, why they will buy from you and how to talk to them in a language that evokes that all important Call to Action.

A proud moment…

Susan speaks fluent French and one of her greatest achievements was a presentation at Microsoft’s head office in Paris.  In French. With a hangover.
