I also have to add that the conclusion gives no answer about the Lancelot-Guinevere love story; I wish there was a sequel to let us know if Arthur discover them and what will be his reaction! Also, how do rumours spread so fast? They do things, take risks and obviously think for themselves.

Au contraire, elle m’a vraiment plu! I should know, I just went hunting around Google to try and find one, but it seems its plain green binding is original and not an idiosyncrasy of the library.

There is no hint of any idealistic conflict within Lancelot, as there is in later versions of caballerk story. Dec 29, Tyron Van Geest rated it really liked it. Of course the very “knightly” things Lancelot does can see a little weird- like agreeing to return to his prisoner after the tournament and actually fulfilling that promise- but that is part of what makes this story just a good knight story. Lancelot, El Caballero de La Carreta

In some ways, this is a very poor poem, especially when compared with Yvain, Or, the Knight With the Lion. Clearly medieval Twitter was hard at work or something. Si bien hay escenas memorables y frescas en un comienzo, estas se van repitiendo hasta que termina la novela. What may also surprise the modern reader is the amount of female characters, who actually aren’t merely decorative, and how unsqueamish they all are.

Lancelot: The Knight of the Cart by Chrétien de Troyes

That being said, I really enjoyed this one. This edition is pretty great; it’s a modern translation of a stage of French that non-trained modern readers wouldn’t understand, and since it’s a high school edition, it also comes with notes and explanatory texts at the end.

This tale is especially intriguing because it is the first time the character of Lancelot appears in the legends, so seeing his kind is origin story unfold is really fascinating.
