She came across insufferable for no good reason other than to be difficult. Innocents is basically the story of a 16 year girl who seduces her teacher. I’m really glad I picked it up though, I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed ctahy considering it’s context and everything, but hey, I can appreciate good writing A page later, we are promised another disaster, one which was fully expected and, for me, anticipatedexcept the book ends there.
The unnamed narrator of the story- or as I call her,a modern Lolita-managed to take the reader on a dark and twisted journey throughout the book. It was a story about a 16 year old girl who manages to seduce and manipulate her 34 year old teacher with her skilled acting-the feigned innocence,naivety and inexperience-and takes them both-along with the readers-through a story of lust and self destruction.
It’s written sort of as a letter. Because I’ve got news for you – just because you put a female in the role of sexual dominator does not mean she’s empowered. This Lolitaseed of evil, who’s also the protagonist isn’t even likable. Every single expression she wore and cokte she spoke was an act of seduction,the way she created an aura of innocence around her in order to manipulate a man to the point where he loses his self control finally and causes destruction for both of them.

This is not what I was expecting from this book.
There was a lot of graphic and descriptive sex in the caty, but other than that, it was boring. Ships from and sold by Amazon.
She was such a damaged human being,to the point where she’s ready to do anything to get what she wants. The idea behind it is great but for me, the author just doesn’t deliver.

The one who initiates everything, who manipulates cxthy seduces and controls? It bored me and I was not scandalized or titillated. What really grabbed me about this book was cahhy easily it was to identify with the nameless narrator. That was kinda interesting I suppose, but then I started getting really freaked out when I could sympathise with her. I would deeply appreciate it if Cathy wrote a sequel to this so we could know what happened with that.
