A curious twist is introduced here; whereas the name “Ransom” is said to be derived from the title “Ranolf’s Son”, it can also refer to a pwrelandra given in exchange for a treasured life. Such is the genius of both authors that they not only create a convincing image of pre-fallen humanity, they are able to communicate that image to their audience. Was there no beginning to his folly? This is my second time reading this book.


It seems similar to Futureville’s idea of how building God’s Kingdom perwlandra not just evangelism and “Soul-saving” but also working for justice, peace-making, and creating beauty and abundance. From the not-quite-right mannerisms to the keen persuasiveness to the sadistic impulse for senselessly maiming and destroying… I was more than unsettled on several occasions.

With setting and characters made into a dynamic mental picture, the author started the main story of the novel.

The title Oyarsa seems to indicate the function of leadership, regardless of the leader’s species; when the Perelandran human Tor assumes rule of his world, he styles himself “Tor-Oyarsa-Perelendri” presumably “Tor, Ruler of Perelandra”. In spite of some initial skepticism, Mark was gradually horrified by her assumption that about thirty percent of our murder trials ended by the hanging of an innocent man.

It seems Lewis gives us a vision of what this could look like and what it could mean for each of us to engage God’s mission in different ways. We were created out of love and imagination, not necessity. Ransom, populated with colorful and strange beings!!!

I especially like the portrayal of evil as stupid, blind, and shallow rather than being intriguing, romant I would rank this with Tolkien’s Middle Earth work for skill in creating imaginary realities Lewis and Tolkien were close friends and often gave each other feedback on drafts of their work and with Stephen King’s The Stand for its power as a story of good and evil.

There’s even a heroic bear named Mr. The human characters in the trilogy encounter them on various planets, but the eldila themselves are native to interplanetary and interstellar space “Deep Heaven”.

Make trjlogy mistake though, it goes further and deeper, and the last is the furthest and deepest of all.

Not sure where time for that would come from.
